Statement About Process
In the last two years I have been examining the interrelationship of drawing and painting. For years I kept these practices separate with drawing the handmaiden of painting and painting the captive of drawing. Feeling locked in by this I began playing in watercolor and powdered graphite, which opened a portal to mixed media drawings that are more expressive in nature and are not compositional studies for oil paintings. This inquiry into materials spread to my oil paintings.
